Our Story

THE X PROJECT

In July 2016 our founder Aleaka Tate lost her only son at the age of 17 to senseless gun violence by another teen, someone who was supposed to be a friend of his. This horrific incident invoked her to start a new program within our organization, The X Project a movement aimed towards the guidance and education of high-risk youth. The “X” project is making waves in schools even at the local legislative level. We want to make sure that the community is well informed and involved when it comes to gun safety. Not only do we help inform but also help redirect the lives of youth who have been negatively affected by violence.

Our Mission

The X- Project to redirect the course of susceptible teen lives by helping them focus on more positive valuable life skills. Teach them core value skills and keep them on the right path.

“We are asking for your help and support. It’s time to take immediate action and restore the safety that has been violently taken away from our community.”

“It is time we take back our streets. Our city was once that was once the melting pot of America has now turned into a nightmarish gravesite for far too many.

What We Do (The “X” Project)

Teach Our Youth

We use a variety of different methods to teach our youth sets of skills they can apply in a variety of setting mentorship programs and job skills they can use to hold a job. Because of a lack of safety knowledge.

Money Raised For Project and Events

Our success derives from our holistic approach. We provide the skills needed to succeed in an office, shop environment, along with the social service support our students need to prosper in their personal lives.  We sell merchandise candy, and gourmet flavored popcorn to help support our project. We also provide a lifetime of post-graduate services, including job placement help, ongoing mentoring from staff and volunteers, support groups, additional training seminars, and many networking opportunities with alumni and business professionals.
